The goal of every business should be to provide great service and generate satisfied customers. Customer satisfaction will determine whether or not they become a repeat customer or not. Best of all, they will recommend you to other people that could generate more business for you and your site.
Be Original, Creative, Fun and Entertaining
Use the same principles that create customer satisfaction to your list. Don’t email customers with tired, old blah blah blah email messages. Don’t make every email a sales pitch. Don’t overdo the frequency or length of your emails. Respect your customer’s time and reward them for being on your list with valuable information, discounts, and even products.
Make your promotional materials interesting and fun. Try to use a little creativity but not too over artsy. Build around what your product or service is about. For example; if you are selling car parts, put some pictures of what is new in the auto parts world, a new wing door possibly that can fit any car and make it look like a Lamborghini.
Research and Stay on the Cutting Edge
Research what people are looking for, this way, you stay one step ahead of them. You will be their bearer of new tidings as they would say at Christmas time. They will be eager to receive your emails because they always have fresh, invigorating and exciting new things in them.
Write good articles that are informational but light at the same time. If your subscribers enjoy your articles, they will go to your site by clicking the links that you put in them. You can provide articles that can connect with many people. Be diverse in your articles. Put something humorous, then put something informational, then put something that has both. If you don’t have the time or the writing skills have this freelanced out. Do a Google search for articles that you can purchase or are in the public domain.
If you don’t like writing the same ideas apply. There are many professional and experienced article writers that can do the job for you for minimal fees. They know what they are doing and can provide what is needed for good newsletters, articles and emails.
Give to Get: Free Ebooks
One highly effective method of getting people to opt-in and to stay in are free digital books, called ebooks. Create and send an ebook to your customers about anything that is related to your business or site. Use your knowledge and expertise in your field to help other people who are similarly interested. Offer this ebook for free. You can write about anything informational and helpful to your subscribers. For example; you can create manuals and guides on various subjects about your business or products.
Share this ebook with everyone, even other sites; just make sure that they don’t change the links in the book that lead people to your site. If you want, you can always get some people to write it for you just like your articles. Your investment once again will be covered by the new sales this will generate.
Leverage Everything into Multiple Products
The great thing about written materials is that they can be used over and over again - repacked and reformatted to get the widest possible use and distribution. The time and effort and cost of creating the material occurs once but its uses grow and continue on over and over again. I wrote this material as an ebook earlier in the year. I am not putting it on my website as a series of articles. I may even break it up further and offer it as an email course to my opt-in list.
Eventually I’ll link it to various social networks and put excerpts in article directories. The more ways you offer people to consume your information and the more places they are exposed to it the greater the relationship they will have with you. Greater exposure means more site visitors and more site visitors means more opt-ins and more sales.
Other Discounts and Incentives
Other tactics for generating interest in your emails and opt-in lists include adding e-coupons in your newsletters that will help them avail to special discounts. Put a control number in your e-coupon so that they can only be used once. When people get discounts that can be found in your newsletters, they will be eager to receive your newsletter in anticipation of what you are promoting next.
If your subscribers can get benefits from your newsletters, they will be very eager to receive them. Just don’t flood your mailing list with mails so that annoy your subscribers or you’ll soon find yourself without any.
